Life Coaching to Empower, Inspire, & Guide Towards Positive, Progressive Change

Choices

Choices

Fear, Burnout, and the current-state Great Resign, due primarily to the stresses of the pandemic …. a record 4 million people quit their jobs in April 2021 alone, according to the Labor Department. The pandemic has given people all kinds of reasons to change direction. Some people, particularly those who work in low wage jobs at restaurants, are leaving for better pay. Others have left jobs that were simply not a good fit and their priorities have shifted to living in integrity. While everyone has their own personal ways of coping with work-related stress, like exercise or meditation, an expert can help. There are several routes that you can take toward self-improvement, from therapy apps to coaches who specialize in helping executives and entrepreneurs. The question is, how can you tell which type of expert is right for your needs?

For starters, therapists are required to meet education and license requirements to provide treatment. Coaches aren’t held to the same rigorous standards. The overarching difference between coaches and therapists may be best described this way “A really great coach is there to take you from where you are now - to where you want to be tomorrow and can help you reach peak performance, but if you have some injuries from your past – that linger with you today - that haven’t healed properly, then therapy is your best avenue. Both coaches and therapists provide useful tools and can be beneficial in different ways.

  • Career coaches help people with their work concerns, specifically.

  • Career coaches are hired during a transitional period; either when a person leaves a job or loses a job. Sometimes people seek career coaches if they’re dissatisfied, frustrated or “not feeling a sense of fulfillment” at their job.

  • Life coaches guide you through all aspects of your life, from your romantic relationships to your finances and beyond, and help you plan for the future and make decisions.

  • The point of life-coaching is to create an action plan that helps you change your behavior in some area of your life.

  • A therapist’s job is to help you understand your own internal emotional and psychological workings that contribute to your behavior patterns, or get in the way of moving toward your goals.

  • You don’t have to wait until you have a problem or crisis to go to therapy; many high-functioning people go to therapy simply because they want to enrich their lives, learn to cope with stress and anxiety or be happier.

My experience of the life coaching process with Thomas was enlightening and cathartic – his coaching helped me work out exactly what it is I wanted and set me along the path I designed with milestones and action steps Thomas ensured that during the entire process, I was never told to do anything. I drove the process and knew that I had worked out the best solutions for myself. I can do a lot of things after coaching which I couldn’t do before such as, how to use my positive energy to overcome any stress through meditation and some relaxation techniques. I learned some NLP techniques and it was wonderful.

Thomas taught me to trust my instincts and to embrace my passion to define my purpose. His guidance and direction was a positive influence on me and let me see that I had the answers for which I was searching within me. I just needed to learn to sit and listen sit and listen. He was an excellent sounding board, always telling me the truth and not just what I wanted to hear. His perspective on things based on his experiences and knowledge is refreshing. I would recommend his services to anyone who asks me.

Working with Thomas through VisionQuest Life Coaching has changed my life. Having just gone through a particularly difficult time in my life that impacted my career, it really helped me to know that there was someone that I could talk to who would really listen. He was not one to offer advice, rather he found ways to help me to see the solutions, and to know I was capable of achieving them.

KB - Pensacola, Florida

I consider myself successful at work. I have achieved a position in Senior Management in a relatively short period of time. During this time in my career though, I felt as though other important areas of my life were not as important to me as they should be. I just could not achieve that Work-life balance, or as Thomas stated< “it really should be life-work balance”. The VisionQuest coaching process helped me to review my priorities and make the necessary adjustments to ensure I did not neglect my family and personal needs. Thomas had a gentle style and calm tone that made the process a painless, and enjoyable one.

JD - Memphis, Tennessee

I was not going anywhere in my career. I felt stuck and I needed a new start. I started working with Thomas as my life coach, focused on my career and we developed a plan of actions and milestones that really helped me to see what my true passions and were. I have no doubt that this was the best decision I have made. I trusted the plan I had created with Thomas and ended up in a much better career, that was a much better fit for me. It took some sessions of working together, but the results will last a lifetime. I am happy to go to work now, and feel I have a purpose.
